Is corruption the main source of our grievances?

30 Dec

Many are the times that corruption has been attributed to the stunted economic growth. Its effect has also been felt in the political arena, it is said that “unless ones ethnic group is in office, there is no possibility of political or economic advancement” Is this, for example, one of the reasons why Nyanza is considered one of the poorest provinces in the country?

What happened to the corruption act, which has been in existence since 1956? What about the procurement laws which were put in place to increase transparency? Are they effective? And, is corruption the main source of our grievances? Or is there something else that acts as a catalyst to it?
