Is Nepotism being encouraged?

14 Oct

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moses Wetangula, recently tabled a list of the 37 Ambassadors and High commissioners sent on foreign missions since the formation of the coalition government in 2008 at the behest of Gichugu Mp, Martha Karua.

What emanated from the tabled list was that powerful politicians were using their positions to influence the appointment of their relative. When questioned why, the Minister had this to say “… it is improper for me to ask; whose wife are you? Whose sister are you? Because we are looking at the qualifications of Kenyans”
But is that the truth? Or are we seeing a situation whereby the government system is favouring a few influential leaders?
