In the recent past, the former British High Commissioner to Kenya has been very outspoken about governance and corruption in Kenya. In his remarks, he has demonstrated that he does not care about the protocol that governs relations between one country and another. He has used every available opportunity, even sponsoring some, to malign, abuse and disparage the government and in extension the people of Kenya.
Sir Edward earned a reputation for his willingness to speak out against corruption at high levels of the Kenyan government. It is notable that the High Commissioner has persistently targeted a section of the government for his attacks for reasons, which are not too difficult for anyone to discern. The government does take great exception that the High Commissioner has taken advantage of his diplomatic status to flagrantly incite the people of Kenya against their government. The fight against corruption is a Kenyan fight, initiated by Kenyans and one that will be carried out by Kenyans for the benefit of all Kenyans.
He has as usual attempted to belittle the government’s anti-corruption efforts. My main question is were all his comments and remarks genuine on corruption and our government?
WAY FORWARD OR ABUSE FROM FOREIGNERS?
