THE HAGUE: CABINET SPLIT OVER LOCAL TRIBUNAL

15 Jul

HAGUEOCAMPO

THE BIG QUESTION WE KENYANS MAY ASK OURSELVES IS WHY ARE SOME MPS’  SCARED OF THE HAGUE OPTION AND WE KNOW IT’S THE ONLY WAY OF GETTING JUSTICE DONE?

“I will open Kenya’s sealed envelope and spill the beans this week,” Chief Prosecutor of International Criminal Court Mr Luis Moreno-Ocampo promised the world after receiving the The Waki envelope from the chief mediator  Kofi Annan  he said  “When I return I will open it and let the public know the details.”This Ocampo’s latest promise must have struck at the heart of Kibaki and Raila, as five or six of the confidants they handpicked to Cabinet are said to be in the list drawn by Justice Philip Waki’s Commission. It is bound to poison the political environment by inflaming passions in the country, further complicating their bid to sidestep The Hague by beating Annan’s August deadline for a local tribunal. There is also a standing deadline set by Ocampo by which he must get status of investigations and prosecutions.

Systems are operated by individuals and the political class knows how well to capitalize on the loop-holes example is Mr William Ruto whom was advocating for the Hague option now he has changed for the TJRC (Truth Justice Reconciliation commission) which will be sat by his friends whom will ensure that his head will be off the hook. He remain in cabinet at the expense of Kenyans (madoadoa) leaving in IDPS. Kenyans arise to the occasion to ensure all those implicated become friends of Charles Taylor in Hague Prisons. This is the only way to ensure Fundamental reforms in this country for the benefit of the little and poor whom can’t afford a plate of Ugali. Kenyans check on our infrastructure i.e roads, sanitation they are in terrible situation all because the money was siphoned to the politician pockets. Kenyans once again let’s reclaim the lost glory where justice will be 4 all not for the big fish. They are driving state of the art fuel guzzlers whereas Kenyans are facing starvation.

Kenyans remember in 2002 when we all voted against the KANU govt, because Kibaki and the rain-coalition team promised us to eradicate corruption even Kibaki at his acceptance speech said there will be no sacred cows. 2 years later Anglo-leasing come but bcoz his friends were involved nothing to date has being done only the usual way of taking a burning issue to the damping site that is a commission is set.
The report was discarded and Kibaki never acted upon the real issues, come 2009 we have had 2 corruption cases i.e Maize n Fuel nothing has being acted upon. So how do we believe that the TJRC will not be manipulated for their own favors. Come 2012 we will have a genocide

I totally agree with Daniel….these politicians are dem selfish…We all know that the government is the head of the country just like in our families fathers are the head and whatever they do may affect their homes positively or negatively…so does the Government. Those that know they took part in the post election violence are now scared because Annan caught them off guard and at the Hague there is no “Kitu kidogo” so now they are really scared and that is why they are advocating for the so called truth justice reconciliation commission….can’t wait to see them leave their offices for good.We need fresh blood in government how we pray to God that that spirit of corruption will not be inherited. It may take time but i believe big things start with a small step.
